New South Island Skills4Work Manager

Stan Wojtas

Stan Wojtas has joined Skills4Work as South Island Business Manager.

In this role Stan takes responsibility for Skills4Work’s South Island operation which includes offices in Dunedin, Christchurch and Nelson.

Skills4Work, the not for profit organisation recently formed in a restructure of the engineering ITO Competenz, employs around 13 staff in the South Island.

Stan has extensive experience in training across a range of Apparel and Textile manufacturing industries. Most recently he held the senior role of Regional Manager with the NZ Retailers Association.

Prior to that, he was the principal of a private training establishment specializing in work Based Training within Christchurch and Dunedin.

Helping businesses to integrate training to achieve positive business outcomes has been a key focus for Stan in his previous roles, and one that he looks forward to growing in his work with Skills4Work customers.

“The challenge for businesses is to understand and value how training can help achieve greater business outcomes. Too often training is viewed as a stand alone must-do, rather than as a means of upskilling staff to meet business objectives,” says Stan.

“Today’s training has to lift the “bottom-line profit” and personally benefit each person. Therefore, I’m excited about the wide scope of solutions that Skills4Work offers, allowing our team to tailor individual training plans that not only upskill and empower staff, but also achieve business goals.”
Stan says the Skills4Work structure is perfectly matched for regional customers.

“While Skills4Work resourcing is national, we can offer a specific regional focus. Each of our South Island offices is staffed by locals who understand local industry requirements, but at the same time can draw on the structural and resource expertise of a national organisation. It’s a total one stop shop for apprenticeship and workforce training.”

Stan is based at Skills4Work’s Christchurch office. Skills4Work can be contacted on 0800 2 SKILL (0800 275 455).
